Board Goals 2016-2017

 

#1 Goal:  To Increase Student Achievement

1. In reading

2. In writing (language usage)

3. In math

 

  • 80% of all students at or above 61st percentile in reading measured by spring MAP
  • 80% of all students meeting growth expectations in reading measured by spring to spring MAP scores
  • 80% of all student at or above 61st percentile in language usage measured by spring MAP
  • 80% of all students meeting growth expectations in language usage measured by spring to spring MAP scores
  • 80% of all students at or above 61st percentile in math measured by spring MAP
  • 80% of all students meeting growth expectations in math measured by spring to spring MAP scores
  • Douglas High School will score above the state average composite score on the ACT
  • Douglas High School will be above the state average for percentage of students ready for college work in the four core areas (English composition, College Algebra, College Social Studies, College Science)

 

#2 Goal:  To Recruit, Train, and Retain Excellent Staff

 

  • All certified staff and some classified staff will receive training about professional learning communities (PLCs)
  • Focus professional development on reading, math, and writing
  • Create a comprehensive mentoring and induction plan
